COMP 490: Special Topics: Image Processing


Course Description

This course covers image processing from the pixel level on up. Students will write there own processing algorithms in addition to using pre-written computer vision algorithms implemented in OpenCV. Basic interface creation using QT will also be covered. By the end of the semester students will be creating image processing applications to solve real world problems.

Grading

Course evaluation will be based on students ability to learn course material, participate in class, and solve problems. Evaluation of comprehension cannot be made without assignments being turned in on time. Therefore assignments must be turned in on time. Late assignments receive a maximum of 50% and that only if turned in within 24 hours of the due date.

The breakdown of points within the class is:
35% Lab assignments
25% Midterm project (Lab 5)
